How to Use the Chem-X Foaming Lance System (Freedom Foamer)

What You’ll Need:

  • Pressure washer (1–6 GPM, 1000–4000 PSI)
  • Chem-X Freedom Foamer Lance
  • Shut-off spray gun (like the MTM Hydro SGS35)
  • Foam injector (ST-160 for single step or ST-164 for dual-step)
  • Chem-X soaps (Old Glory OR Stars + Stripes)
  • Optional: KEW to QC adapter for up-close rinsing

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Connect the System

  • Attach the Freedom Foamer Lance to your trigger gun.
  • Ensure all KEW or QC connections are secure.

Insert the draw tube(s) from your foam injector into your soap container(s).

    • For Old Glory, use one tube and ST-160.
    • For Stars + Stripes, use the dual-inlet ST-164 and connect to both soap jugs.

2. Select Your Soap (If Using Dual Injector)

  • Flip the switch or lever on the ST-164 injector to choose either Stripes (Step 1) or Stars (Step 2).
  • For a single-step system, like Old Glory, just begin foaming.

3. Start Foaming

  • Squeeze the trigger to apply a rich foam layer.
  • Foam from bottom to top (reduces streaking).
  • Apply in shaded areas or during cooler parts of the day.
  • Work in small sections so the soap doesn’t dry before you rinse.

4. Dwell Time

  • Let the foam sit for about 30–60 seconds.
  • Don’t let it dry—this is key to avoiding spots or damage.

5. Rinse Thoroughly

  • Rinse with high-pressure water, ideally 3000 PSI+
  • Rinse from bottom to top, then top to bottom for full coverage.
  • Use the included KEW to QC adapter if you want to switch to a rinse nozzle for close-up cleaning.

6. Optional: Repeat for Step 2

  • If using Stars + Stripes, switch to Stars after rinsing Stripes.
  • Repeat the foam → dwell → rinse process.

Tips for Best Results

  • Use water at ~125°–130°F for optimal foam performance.
  • Keep your foam agitator pad in good condition (replace as needed).
  • Store your Freedom Foamer indoors to prevent cold-weather damage.
  • Always disconnect your soap pickup lines and flush with water after use.
